I love John Cheever and I love his story The Swimmer because it’s so brilliant, but I love this movie because it’s so over the top and pretty awful. But Joan Rivers has a nice cameo and you can see Cheever himself in the poolside party scene.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people
will not feel insecure around you.
We were born to make and manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

This weeks life through the lens challenge was fear. The picture above is fear for me, the idea that i may live to see another of my children or my husband go before me, scares me to death. So i drew a casket for this one. I am not afraid of dying, but i am afraid of losing those that i love and having to try to live without them. http://mommyx4boys.wordpress.com/2014/08/12/life-through-the-lens-challenge/
